Honolulu by Alan Brennert

This book instantly had my attention. It's beautifully written and so in depth that you feel you are going right along with Jin. At the same time, it's so horribly tragic; to go from nothing to just another country's nothing...these girls know no one, they have been horribly mislead and have just about no means to go back home even if they wanted to. Its great to see them embrace a new culture so whole-heartedly, even through the deep-seated racism and discrimination. These women raise themselves to something that they can be proud of!

Sliding Into Home by Kendra Wilkinson

Now usually I hate autobiographical books; I feel like everyone has a history and what makes anyone so special as to make money off of their own story. But as a longtime fan of the tv series The Girls Next Door and Kendra, I was somewhat curious about Kendra's tell-all memoirs; and let me tell you...she tells all! I have to admit that I read it in a few short hours; I was not able to put it down. She is so up-front and honest, you can't help but love her in the end. I also must admit that her life story is a little bit more interesting than most!

The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest by Stieg Larson

The third and final book in this Trilogy was by far the best and my personal favorite. It's also, coincidently, the one that took me the longest to read. He rounds out the characters and their personal stories wonderfully and so in depth; you feel like you are sitting in the hospital with Lisbeth and in the Court Room with Giannini. If you weren't a fan of Lisbeth's in the previous books, she'll grab your heart for sure! You'll be wishing you had just a semblance of her incredible mind; her wit and cleverness. It's so well translated that you'll forget this book wasn't written in English!

The Girl Who Played With Fire by Stieg Larsson

This was a great follow-up to The Girl With A Dragon Tattoo. I was so glad that it dealt more with Lisbeth Salander and you got to fully understand her character. The thought behind her character plot and story-line is mind-numbing to me; she is so brilliantly written. I also love that the other characters are just there to support her; you know them and a little bit about them, but the trilogy is about her and that's where the focus should lie. There is so many incredibly horrible things going on in this book that I could scarcely put it down.

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson

So everyone that was recommending books a couple weeks ago, all suggested this one. I have to admit that I had seen it at B&N quite a few times but never was interested. Then one day at Costco, I bought it and was instantly hooked. Now anyone that knows my book likes will tell you that I hate translated books (even Anna Karenina took me a couple times to understand completely)but you would never be able to tell with this one! The names stay consistent, it's easy to follow and easy to get into. I love that it's story line was straight to the point; no unnecessary plots or characters. I am now in the middle of the The Girl Who Played With Fire and can not wait for the 3rd installation!

Made in the U.S.A. by Billie Letts

The love that sisters have for their brothers...I really enjoyed this book; even though at times it was a little far fetched and a little predictable by the end. But the characters are so well written that you will be willing to overlook all the down-sides. I truly hope that there are not people out there with a similiar story, because its one of the saddest I have ever read.

The World is Full of Married Men by Jackie Collins

This is the first Jackie Collins book (my second). I had fun reading this book, although it made me think twice about men, that's for sure. I just don't understand how people cheat so often, with little to no concequences? And although Claudia was your steriotypical Hollywood-Starlet-Wannabe, I couldn't help but like her. Not the sleeping with everyone part but the tough chick persona! Keep it in your pants boys!

Something Blue by Emily Giffin

Such a cute book! I totally loved! I actually think a lot of women will be able to relate in some way to Darcy! She is such a believable character! By the end of the book I was seriously reconsidering my wardrobe!

Revolutionary Road

? My thoughts on this book...are a little slow coming. It was well written with a good story base, but long and boring was the way! He, your typical male shovenist. She, your original desperate house wife...I would think that if you are that miserable in your daily life, you would try to change it? Which I guess is what she tried to do but really!?

Poor Little Bitch Girl

How many different ways can I say I LOVE this book! It was such a guilty pleasure for me! I have to admit that this was the first Jackie Collins book I have ever read, but when I finished it after only 2 days, I went out and ordered her first book (I plan on reading every one she has ever written.) I do wonder however, if this book was based on anyone in particular?!

Push by Sapphire

This novel truly broke my heart. I didn't know you could feel so many emotions with one story. I encourage even the most conservative person to read this book. I have never thought that my life was in any way hard; in fact, I would consider myself one of the lucky ones, but it made me realize how sheltered my life has been. That there are truly girls out there that struggle with these problems has made me open my eyes. There are true miracles happening every day and we need to stop more often and look at all the things people in this world overcome!

Choke by Chuck Palahnuik

What can you possibly say about a book like this. It gives a gritty inside to a life most people could never imagine! I enjoyed it although at times it was a little rounchy but not out of place. His relationship with is mother will make you stop, think and give thanks for the relationship you have with your own mother! The little twist at the end should have been obvious but I was so enthralled with the story that I didn't see it coming!

Snow Falling On Cedars

So I'm not all the way finished with this book, but I have to say, withholding evidence that could exonerate an innocent man is infuriating. I get the he is still pining for this mans wife but really...it has been 10 years; she is married with children, I don't think she has any plans to reconnect with Ishmael. Time to move on buddy! I think it's very true to form how they represent sex as two different meanings for men versus women. A lot of the time it does mean something different; true feelings are revealed in the most intimate of moments; there is no saying what our heart will decided. Can't wait to see how it will end!
